La Bottega Deli is the story of a little Italian deli , which grew out of nothing to become a little gem in Cape Town. In Italian, “la bottega” simply means shop.

After a successful 16 years in the restaurant industry, running the family restaurant La Masseria, together with mom, Miki and dad Lorenzo Ciman, and with the Italian culture in our blood and the passion for food and serving customers engrained after many years in the restaurant industry, we were never going to move away from FOOD, especially Italian Food (how could we?), but we needed time for our families too.

After little more than 2 weeks after the closure of our restaurant business due to family illness,, the opportunity arose for Kiki Ciman-Frauenknecht to set up a little Italian deli inside the Italian Club in 2015. What started as little more than a shelf with one or 2 pastas, a head of cheese here , a few tins of imported tomatoes there and a lot of hope and passion.. La Bottega Deli was born.

After 8 years at the Italian Club, we spread our wings and took up a larger space with a production kitchen where we can cook up all those amazing Italian dishes! Since November 2022, La Bottega Deli is located in new beautiful surroundings at Stodels Garden Centre, RaceCourse Rd, Milnerton.

Baked Goods

Our range of Italian pantry products are the ones we grew up with in our homes, and through watching Nonna and Nonno learned to love and trust them. We know that these ingredients are the perfect base for you to use on your traditional Italian cooking journey, simple yet delicious.

Ready Made Foods

The pre-prepared meals supplied by La Bottega Deli are tasty, fresh and safe because they contain no preservatives. They are the answer for anyone who doesn’t want to do the cooking, or doesn’t have much time available, but doesn’t want to sacrifice the flavours and delights of good food.
